About Program
Medical Pharmacology Ph.D. program is a 4-year program consisting of 4-semestres of theoretical courses and 2-years of study for Ph.D. thesis.
Goals
To raise specialists in pharmacology equipped with knowledge-skills and attitude;
- Contribute to universal science by designing, planning and conducting basic and clinical research and interpreting and presenting the results.
- Render service about drugs and their clinical use by information exchange.
- Actively participate in the Country’s pharmaceutical and healthcare policy.
Summary of Program Outcomes
Students successfully completing this program should have comprehended;Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of drugs, the role of drug target molecules in signal transduction, cell-tissue-organ-system function and metabolic events, action and mechanism of action of molecules enabling intercellular communication at cellular and organism level, theoretical basis of research methodology, data collection and assessment methodology used in basic and clinical pharmacology, clinical pharmacological concepts and basic ethical principles in science. Should have gained the skills;To apply research methodology used in basic pharmacological research, to design, plan and conduct basic and clinical pharmacological research and to present scientific data. Should have understood and adopted the power of scientific methodology in basic and clinical pharmacological problem solving, should have gained the habit of monitoring and if necessary, using scientific and technological developments and changes and should have adopted ethical values, should have gained the attitude of working according to the rules of “Good Laboratory Practices” and Good Clinical Practices and should have gained the understanding of teamwork.
