About Program
History of Science is a discipline that studies and explains the development of science, which is defined as systematic and positive knowledge, in history. In doing this, history of science tries to explain the science in its all aspects by inquiring the surfacing of scientific theories in different ages, the forms and social outcomes of gathering scientific knowledge by scientists, the relationship of science with other intellectual processes namely philosophy, religion and art, relationship between science and technology and the position and significance of science in daily life. Also the properties of science is studied with respect to subjects in contemporary sociology of science and psychology of science fields.
Goals
The aim of this program is to educate bachelor degree students graduated from various fields (engineering, natural sciences and humanities) the process and conditions of scientific development and preparing them to history of science PhD.
Summary of Program Outcomes
Develop and deepen information about a specific field of the history of science by research and original text study, conducts work on it and a new sheds light on the scientific understanding of the period by deciphering the unknown new texts.
