About Program
Philosophy of Religion doctorate program studies on
religion philosophically. In this framework, the program gives students
knowledge, skill and perfection on the subjects of main problems of
Metaphysics, main concepts of Philosophy of Religion, the concept of God, the
epistemology of religious beliefs, God and time, the problem of free will.
Goals
The program aims to educate students in Philosophy of
Religion. The Students are supposed to be able to study and dispute on whether
religious beliefs are meaningful, true, possible and reasonable; whether these
beliefs have an intrinsic consistency and unity; what results are originated
from these beliefs; whether these beliefs have explanatory power. The students are also supposed to analyse
these problems critically, produce advanced knowledge and convey the advanced knowledge
by written and verbal means to academic audience.
Summary of Program Outcomes
A student graduated from the philosophy of religion
program, supposed to get into more depth in his spiecialized field topics by an
original reasoning and a research of contemporary and advanced knowledge, for
the use and the development of aforementioned advanced speculative knowledge, a
graduate student of doctoral degree is expected to be familiarised with the
national and international literature of the field as well as having a
comphrehensive knowledge of concepts and the problems. Additionally, a graduate
of the field, is supposed to be able to make use of contemporary researchs and
knowledge concerning his field, read primary sources of his specialized topic
and have a comprehensive skill of using scientific language sufficent for publishing or making use of books, articles
and so on at a national and an international level.
