The French Language and Literature doctorate degree program enables students to conduct more in-depth research based on the information they have acquired about the History of France, the History of French Literature, and writers and poets. French Literature made an important contributions to the history of literature with writers such as Montaigne, Rabelais, Molière, Racine, Descartes, Pascal, Rousseau, Voltaire, Diderot, Victor Hugo, Stendhal, Balzac, Zola, Baudelaire, Camus, Sartre, Beckett, Ionesco, Todorov, Duras, Maalouf. In this respect, this program aims to conduct research on the language, culture and literature of France and helps us to compete with the contemporary world by contributing to the promotion of this richness of France in our country.

During the doctorate degree program at French Language and Literature department, students learn processes and authors in different periods of French literature which are examined for their contribution in this process. It is also the main objective to evaluate and understand its place in world literature and culture of French literature.

The Doctorate Degree program at French Language and Literature department aims to provide students with in-depth knowledge and advanced research competencies in the fields of French language and literature. The program equips students with the skills to analyze French literary and cultural texts through various theoretical approaches, conduct independent research, and produce original scholarly works. Additionally, students gain advanced knowledge of French grammar and linguistic theories, develop their academic writing and presentation skills, and acquire the ability to conduct interdisciplinary research. These qualifications enable graduates to compete in the international academic arena and pursue successful careers.
