About Program
PHD in Journalism adopts communication-centered approach beyond pratical journalism. It provides students with expert knowledge on media and follows a program through which students can get the ability to evaluate the impact of communication on their culture, society, economy and politics.
Goals
The aim of the PhD program is to train specialists in communication who will in turn be able to develop theoretical and practical knowledge in the field; approach the new knowledge in a systematic way; engage in authentic research; conribute to both national and international literatüre through research, help to introduce new ideas and methods into the field through creative and critical thinking; and finally transfer theoretical and practical knowledge into various educational environments.
Summary of Program Outcomes
Students who successfully complete the program not only have a good knowledge of basic communication theories and concepts, but they also understand the ways media organizations work in reality. Additionally, they get an ability to analyze communication processes with specific referencde to culture, society, politics and economy. Last but not least, they learn how to make use of communication in the solution of social problems.
