M.A in Spanish Language and Literature in the Department of Western Languages of the Institute of Social Sciences  of Ankara University  has been studied since 1988. It is a 2 year master's degree programme. In the courses given by eight academics the studies are carried out  in the fields of Spanish Language, Literature, Culture and Spanish history and also Latin American  literature and history  

The program aims to train qualified individuals that have knowledge of Spanish literature, theater, poetry and other literary genres and the historical, social, economic, political, philosophical, scientific and literary developments that caused these works came out, and train individuals who can adopt the scientific way of thinking, use effectively information and technology, use modern teaching methods, and who can be productive, creative and critical thinking that represent public interest and can serve as academic and language specialists in Spanish Language and Literature

Students who graduate from the program know using expertly the Spanish Language in different environments for different purposes and forms in daily language, the official language, science language, literary language etc. and undertsands the use of oral and written language Have the ability in the fields of research, planning, implementation, evaluation, and present it in written and spoken Spanish. The students, in developing their own ideas, gain the skills of grounding theirs bases on authentic facts. Develop skills and knowledge continuously by using life-long learning skills.
