Ankara University Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Programme of Museum Education aims to train museum educators rather than museum specialist. The target of the programme is to support the make convenient positions in the museums which are considered as educational environments and place the museum educators into these positions in the museums. Museum Education Programme also aims to train the academic staff in the field of museum education and other related fields of museology in Turkey.

The aim of the Interdisciplinary Museum Education Programme is to develop the museum education activities in the world and Turkey within an interdisciplinary approach through theoretical and practical dimensions and to train specialist museum educators in this field. In this context, the mission of the program is as follows: To develop the museum education in the world and Turkey with theoretical and practical dimensions, To provide scientific knowledge in the field of museum education with an interdisciplinary approach, to train museum education specialists in the field and to train academicians who will develop related issues in universities.

To have knowledge of the basic theories and practices of museum education, to know the historical development process in museum education in Turkey and in the world and to define the philosophical foundations, reasons and processes related to the use of museums for educational purposes. Determining the educational needs of the museum by setting out from the collections in the museums, determining the content of the education and acquiring the skills of developing the museum program. To follow national and international practices and developments in the field of Museum Education. To study and develop national and international projects in the field. To follow the technological and scientific developments in the field, to be ready to development and communication.
