About Program
Paleoanthropology Ph.D. Program examines the developments in global and Anatolian paleoanthropology to give students detailed discussion and specialization topicas. It also teaches closely related scientific areas such as molecular anthropology, skeletal biology, paleontology, paleodemography, paleoecology, forensic anthropology and many others by cooperative theorical and applied studies. This creates an opportunity for students to not only specialize in paleoanthropology, but also teaches them a scientific study method. The students of the program are expected to take role actively in scientific activities, follow the most recent developments in paleoanthropology and produce scientific materal such as journal articles and/or posters, etc.
Goals
The Ph.D. program aims to help the graduates decide their future expertise during and after the degree. One of the most important purpose of the program is to provide the foundation and background information to the students, who are planning to work as an academic. It also aims to prepare students for activities to share their scientific knowledge in national and/or international activities by teaching them the scientific study methods and how to publish a journal and present a speech or a poster. This way, the purpose is also to contribute to the development of paleoanthropology, including Turkey.
Summary of Program Outcomes
Graduates of the program follow the recent developments in paleoanthropology and keep their information actual. They interact with related scientific areas and gain new insights about them. They also scrutinize new ideas scientifically and critically. They play an active role in national and international projects, gain the ability to direct their education to their own needs. They can also share their ideas and knowledge with the society.
