Ankara University Institute of Social Sciences Basic Islamic Sciences Department Tafsir (Interpretation) Science Doctoral Program

The purpose of the Tafsir Science PhD program, to train talented expert researchers who have critical thinking skills and who can produce knowledge in the field and share this information in the national and international level.

1. Knows the basic structure of religion and its basic sources. 2. Have a good command on the subjects, methods and problems of the religious sciences. 3. Have the ability to think on the field in a critical, logical and systematical way. 4. Do scientific, free and qualified researches in the field. 5. Present the conclusions reached in the correct way and suggest solutions. 6. Make use of the communication and information tecnologies in the field. 7. Contribute to the scientific activities in the field. 8. Do projects in the field or take part in others. 9. Know the relevant languages in the field. 10. Achieve the proficiency for using the sources. 11. Have the ability to evaluate and comment according to the received knowledge. 12. Provide new scientific developments with the information taken from classical and modern sources.
