ABOUT THE PROGRAM:

 

Consisting of explanations of literary works written from Tanzimat period to Republican period, the poets and the writers are analyzed. The program also covers the impact of western thought on Turkish intellectual life and its effects on Turkish literature. Examples are used for analysis taken from writers and poets who had an effect on the development of modern Turkish Literature.

Aim of the program is schooling individuals to study on determination of modern Literature’s position in Turkish Litetarute, its characteristics and timeline with respect to scientific methods. Also the program aims educate the students about evaluation of modern Turkish literary works.

The student learns development process of modern Turkish Literature and its stylistic alterations. In the light of this information he/she ables to periodize modern Turkish Literature and express its main characteristics. Also he/she ables to evaluate the role of literature in Turkish society and culture, demonstrate critical insight into the formation of the literary canon and define modern Turkish literature’s problems.
