About Program
In
Ankara University, The Geology education as bachelor’s degree has been started
in 1966 and Geological Engineering has been started in 1972. Our department
tied to Faculty of Engineering in 2001.
Goals
The aim of Ankara University Faculty of Engineering Department of Geological Engineering is to educate equipped people with the necessary knowledge of the geological engineering. Department constantly renews their demands for the development of the geology science and geological engineering profession. the department develops courses and applications by taking feedback in line with the public and private sectors. One of the goals of the department is to develop graduates as professionals to be mindful of lifelong learning. Graduates will adapt quickly in subjects. They are equipped with contemporary basic knowledge to identify problems and develop engineering solutions. Department of Geological Engineering do scientific research, aims to present research results as publications to the scientific world. In this context department takes PhD studies for a master's graduates to educate scientists for superior engineering formations.
Summary of Program Outcomes
PHD students develop the ability of scientific researches, evaluate and interpret informations. They can present the results of their researches as abstracts and articles by oral and written on the scientific national and international level. They focus on resarch and development. They detect problems related to Geological Engineering and develop d contemporary basic knowledge to solve them. They can work indivivually or in teams.
