About Program
The graduate programs in the Department of Chemical Engineering got started
in 1943 under the Faculty of Science and Master’s degree has been issued to those who
have completed the fifth year of education until the year 1982. Since then master’s
and doctorate programs have been pursued under the Institute of Natural and
Applied Sciences.
Goals
The educational objectives of the Chemical Engineering Doctorate Program are to train researches and academicians to: develop advanced experience and knowledge in chemical engineering profession, perform their scientific research in both national and international levels, integrate and use engineering knowledge effectively to be able to evaluate the industrial contribution, work individually and in teams with professional and ethical responsibility, maintain their professional leadership both in industrial and academic activities.
Summary of Program Outcomes
The PhD graduates: acquire an advanced understanding on science, mathematics and engineering and apply this knowledge, are capable of performing their research with the awareness of new and developing application areas , are capable of developing/integrating the knowledge using scientific methods in chemical engineering process design, ındependently design, apply, and bring to completion, an original research process, manages this process, contribute the literature with high level of publications, can effectively function within intra- or interdisciplinary teams, can work independently and take responsibility
