About Program

Science and Technology Studies Second Teaching The Non-Thesis Master's Program is a postgraduate program for multi-disciplinary and holistic approach to science and technology in philosophical, historical, sociological dimensions, and for personnel directly involved in science and technology-related institutions and organizations. The program is unique in its scope with the inclusion of lessons for science policy that is not available in other graduate programs and in the context of informatics, and it has different objectives from thesis master programs, depending on the graduate program without thesis. This interdisciplinary environment has gained institutional and academic roots in the West under the name of "Science and Technology Studies". This program, which is needed by our country, has been translated as "Science and Technology Studies" (LST).

Goals

The program is based on the idea that the examination of all the conditions that produce science is a necessity to understand and explain it, and that this research will provide a model of explanation so that science policies can give positive results. With this idea, the creation of an interdisciplinary workplace that aims to provide a rational basis for science and technology philosophy, to cooperate with many science and technology disciplines, particularly the basic sciences and social sciences, including history, sociology and psychology, . It is a result of being a necessity in the conditions of the century. The aim of the program is to be able to establish a multi-disciplinary framework that will transfer the work carried out in different academic circles on science and technology directly to those who work / work in institutions and institutions related to science and technology.

Summary of Program Outcomes

They have basic conceptual knowledge about the field, the relation between them in terms of theoretical and practical way, the interdisciplinary interaction in which the field is related. It has basic knowledge about the causes and consequences of historical transformations in science and technology. Scientific and Technological Studies have the ability to carry out the researches they need, how to plan their research and apply them. It has the ability to analyze the theoretical knowledge about the field and to evaluate its reflection in practice. To be able to master the theories related to the field of Science and Technology Studies and to be able to report them in the working life by preparing them and to prepare works suitable for academic rules. The acquired knowledge about the field has the ability to transfer to the related persons with theoretical and practical principles. It integrates the information in the field with information from different disciplines and creates new interpretations and new information. Identify the problems related to the field and develop or solve solution proposals using research methods. In order to solve any problems or problems that may be seen in the application in the field, responsibility is taken individually and as a team and take initiative when necessary.
