About Program

Emergency and Disaster Management Programme is established in 2014 at the Beypazarı Vocational School of Ankara University and started to accept students in 2017-2018 educational year.It has been transferred to the Ankara University, Faculty of Open and Distance Education in the 2020-2021 academic year.

Goals

The aim of this programme, within the scope of two-year associate degree education and in line with the main principles set out in Articles 4 and 5 (a) and (b) of Higher Education Law No. 2547, is to educate the qualified personnel in the field of Emergency and Disaster Management. It is purposed that graduates can refer and manage the unit which they are assigned in specialized positions within emergency centers, civil defense forces, fire brigades, relevant institutions /organizations, and apply and teach the basic methods applied in this field.

Summary of Program Outcomes

Students; are sensitive to global and local catastrophe; can organize, promote, and administer search and rescue missions; reach the level of adequate education to understand the effects of disasters in universal and social dimensions; understand the role of actors and their business in the immediate help and management; gain professional ethics and social responsibility.
