Doctoral Program in Mathematics Education is offered in the Department of Elementary School Education in the School of Education. Aim of the program is to train experts with doctoral degrees in the area of mathematics education. The program was designed to be completed in four years. 

The aim of this program is to train researchers who have sufficient knowledge to undertake doing reaserch independently on national or international arena, who can through their research guide the nation through the problems faced in elementary mathematics education and respond to the needs of such organizations as the Institute of Higher Education, the Ministry of Education, universities.

Doctoral Program in Elementary Mathematics Education aims to train people so that they can prepare lessons appropriate to the philosophy and peagogy of the mathematics curriculum, befitting to the mathematical development of students, use appropriate teaching strategies and technologies as well as develop them, follow the related literature from various sources, use multiple research techniques in their own research, discuss important trends in the history of mathematics education, compare and contrast mathematics curriculum of different nations.
