About Program

Our mission is to train individuals who will protect the health of the mother, the newborn, the family and their families, who will provide the necessery care and counseling during pregnancy, during the birth, care of the newborn; who will provide the necessery care during diseases of reproductive. The Main Objectives of the Midwifery Department: To understand human values and behaviors To promote and maintain optimal psychplogical, physiological, social fuctioning of individuals, families and groups through the nursing process To monitor and be responsive on biological, psychological, social, cultural, spiritual and ecological factors that influence health care To foster individual development through a commitment to lifelong learning To involve in management, education and research projects To use international standarts and ethic codes To develop attitude for multidisciplinary team work rurals. To maintain care for women during pregnancy, LABOUR, post-partum period and newborn and infants

Goals

Our Mission: To train midwives who will develop and represent the midwifery profession in every field. Our Vision: To be Professional in the midwifery occupation; who is sensitive to women, babies, children and families, constantly renewing herself/himself in the midwifery field, working with a sense of social responsibility, contributing and changing the policies related to midwifery, producing innovation in midwifery, advocate and practitioner of ethical values, developed problem solving skills, having research information and to be a healthcare professional, as a midwife with research knowledge and skills.

Summary of Program Outcomes

Graduates of midwifery education evaluate the individual, family and society with a holistic approach in health care, which is sensitive to culture in the light of science and ethical values, protect maintain and improve the health of women and newborns in pre-pregnancy, pregnancy, birth and postpartum processes, intervene by identifying risky situations, work in coordination with other members of the health care team, local government and non-governmental organizations and continue their research and development activities lifetime.
