About Program
Faculty of Political Sciences, Ankara University is one of the oldest institutions teaching politics and economics in Turkey. Since the last quarter of the nineteenth century, our faculty has educated many burocrats and economists.
Goals
Ankara University Faculty of Political Sciences, Department of Politics and Economics, aims to equip students with the information economics and related disciplines in order to make them emphasize protecting public benefits and individual freedom; use necessary quantitative and qualitative methods on economic analyses; have creative and analytical thinking skills; and ensure importance of economics to understand social and political developments in Turkey and all over the world. In this context, the Department helps students to gain the qualifications required during their future occupational choices in private, public or non-governmental organizations.
The aim of the program is to equip students with academic knowledge about political science; sociology; administrative science; urban and environmental sciences; comparative political systems; comparative management; history of political thought; political, sociological and psychological aspects of the formation and movement ; Turkey's political history ; Turkey's constitutional order; Turkey's administrative order; public personnel regime.
Summary of Program Outcomes
Identify theoretical and methodological approachs of the social sciences in general. Define historical and actual issues from political and psychological aspects. Explain theoretical frameworks and functioning mechanisms of economic models. State the development of economic thought's importance in the evolution of modern thought. Describe the economical developments and changes in Turkey and in the World. Explains economic informations presented in numerical, verbal and graphical forms.
