About Program
Folklore is a discipline which explores the whole life that contains social and political structures, economic organizations, oral traditions, food and clothing productions, system of values and beliefs, architecture, decorative arts, material culture as well as cultural products. The primary objective of this discipline is to explore the continuity of culture as well as to explore the political, economic, technological and psyhological factors which cause to the cultural change.Therefore folklore gives itself over to not only the traditional, but also contemporary dynamics of culture.a
Goals
At the program of folklore students attain the ability to think systematically on the complex dynamics of the various cultural institutions and activities and cultural diversity. Students attain the knowledge and skills for field research (ethnographic research), making the planning, implementation and reporting. They improve learning skills for using the acquired knowledge. Students review and evaluate different societies and cultures in a comparative approach. Students of this program also understand the ethical requirements relevant to the profession and scientific understanding.
Summary of Program Outcomes
