Composition Division at Ankara University State Conservatory started its education programme in the Academic Year of 2012-2013. It was established as a part of the reconstruction project of our State Conservatory, aiming the excellency in the field. Intellectually, composition is one of the most demanding subjects of music not only with its individual dimensions but also the sociologial ones. Our programme aims to help students to discover the most effective ways to comunicate their ideas. Our faculty members are composers and researchers who are active in both national and international platforms. It was planned to invite distinguished composers for seminars to widen the artistic perspective of our students. Shared projects with the other divisions of our conservatory will also enrich their musical approaches. We hope to bring a new enthusiasm to the field.

Composition Division of the Ankara University State Conservatory Music Department aims to train professional composers and theroists who are competent in international music world.

Graduate is capable of writing original compositions of solo piano, chamber music, vocal music and orchestral music. He/she is capable of analyzing both classical and contemporary compositions. He/she is capable of historical and theoritical understanding of western music through the periods of history.
