About Program
Projects for the establishment of nuclear power plants
for the production of electricity from nuclear energy have been started in our
country. In order to contribute to the training of human resources to take part
in these projects, the Joint Master's program at our University's Institute of
Nuclear Sciences and National Technical University of Ukraine "Igor
Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (KPI)" in Kiev were opened. The
education and research infrastructure of both universities are used within this
master's program.
Within the joint master's program, postgraduate
education on subjects such as safe operating systems of nuclear power plants,
control and regulation of steam turbine facilities, methods of analysis of risk
and reliability, nuclear safety and security, nuclear fuel cycle, emergency
modes and safety, accident analysis and management and research activities are
carried out.
The human resources who will take place in the monitoring,
control and safe operation of the
nuclear power plants in Turkey will be trained in the joint graduate program and
the number of trained manpower in the field of nuclear technology in
applications will be increased.
Goals
The aim of the program is to train specialists at the master's level (MSc) with the structural and functional factors that determine the safety of Nuclear Power Plants, the monitoring systems used to monitor these factors, and the ability to operate the plant safely using these systems.
Summary of Program Outcomes
Knows the processes of safe operation of nuclear power plants, knows ionizing radiation sources and applies protection principles in harmful effects, knows and applies nuclear safety principles, uses verbal and written communication methods effectively, operate individually and in a group, informs the society.
