About Program
Our Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering program is an engineering program focused on artificial intelligence technologies that enables computer systems to mimic human capabilities. In the diploma of our graduates, it will be stated as “graduated from the Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering Program”.
The program content consists of first year basic engineering courses. These basic engineering courses include courses such as Physics and Mathematics. Students of the Artificial Intelligence Engineering program follow a common curriculum with the students of the Computer Engineering program in the first year and take courses on programming, algorithmic thinking and problem solving. While the second year data structures and algorithms courses are taught jointly with Computer Engineering, students enrolled in the Artificial Intelligence Engineering program additionally take basic courses on computers and ethics, artificial intelligence, data science and artificial learning. The second year courses include a customized computer systems course for students to gain a systems perspective. In the third and fourth years, the curriculum of the Artificial Intelligence Engineering program differs from the curriculum of the Computer Engineering program, and the students of the program are among the specially defined course clusters such as "Perception and Language", "Big Data and Machine Learning", "Medical Artificial Intelligence" and "Decision Making and Robotics". They will specialize in artificial intelligence by taking courses. In the last year of their education life, in addition to these elective courses, our students will carry out a graduation project focused on industry and research, where they use their knowledge and experience to solve a complex engineering problem, and at the end of their last year, they will graduate as specializing in artificial intelligence.
Goals
AI is the common name given to studies that aim to bring people's thinking, interpretation and inference abilities to computers. In this context, artificial intelligence engineering is a discipline based on the ability to analyze data, detect related problems and determine the most accurate solution, and solve this solution in the most appropriate way by using the possibilities offered by artificial intelligence technologies. The main purpose of the program is to have the ability to collect and interpret data necessary for the analysis and solution of problems; It is to bring individuals who have the ability to develop, select and use artificial intelligence techniques and tools directly into society.
Summary of Program Outcomes
1. Graduates should have a mastery of artificial intelligence as described by the core of the Body of Knowledge 2. Graduates need understanding of a number of recurring themes, such as abstraction, complexity, and evolutionary change, and a set of general principles, such as sharing a common resource, security, and concurrency. Graduates should recognize that these themes and principles have broad application to the field of artificial intelligence and should not consider them as relevant only to the domains in which they were introduced. 3. A fundamental aspect of artificial intelligence is understanding the interplay between theory and practice and the essential links between them. Graduates of a computer science program need to understand how theory and practice influence each other.
