About Program
The Accelerator and Detector Technologies PhD Program is a postgraduate education program at Ankara University, Accelerator Technologies Institute, under the "Accelerator Technologies Department", aiming to provide training on technologies related to accelerators and detectors. Within the scope of this doctoral program, students present a seminar and a doctoral thesis in addition to compulsory and elective courses. The language of education is Turkish.
Goals
The aim of the Accelerator and Detector Technologies PhD Program is to provide the opportunity to train personnel on particle accelerators, detectors and their applications. For this purpose, this PhD program focuses on accelerators, detectors, data processing, radio frequency, vacuum, triggering, laser, control, electromechanics, cryogenics, data analysis, etc. It will ensure the training of experts in their fields. This program aims to carry out education and research activities on relevant subjects and to train graduate students from relevant fields and different disciplines suitable for this purpose. This program will contribute to education and research at an international level in the fields of accelerators and detectors and their sub-technologies. It will ensure the creation of elevant collaborations and the recruitment oftrained manpower to our country.
Summary of Program Outcomes
Students enrolled in the program will have an infrastructure in areas related to accelerator and detector technologies and their systems. By using mathematical and physical methods, students gain computational abilities in areas related to accelerators or detectors and obtain the necessary theoretical background knowledge. Gains the ability to access information on these subjects by having the ability to develop devices/hardware/software related to accelerator and detector side elements. Have the ability to explain the concepts and theories of advanced beam dynamics, superconducting RF accelerator systems, particle sources, high-energy particle interactions, and radiation sources using scientific approaches. Gains sufficient knowledge and experience in experimental methods, data acquisition and triggering in high energy physics. In addition, students use the knowledge they have acquired by gaining interdisciplinary association skills of accelerator technologies in collaboration with national and international expert researchers.
