Goals This course aims to cover the fundamental questions of ‘who, where and why’ of Turkish political, democratic and diplomatic affairs between 1923 and 1960.
Course Content This course gives information about the key issues and events of the 1923-1960 period with a special emphasis on the Turkish political parties, cabinets and the Constitutions.
Learning Outcomes 1) Understanding and Technique in History and History Writing
2) To improve intellectual knowledge of reading, learning and using the primary sources in History.
3) To value the effectiveness of historical concept in intellectual experience
4) To review the world’s historical events from the past to the present
5) To interpret the general course of Turkish history in world politics
6) To provide useful guidance for undergraduates to broaden their academic horizons in history
7) To make a comparative study of Turkish history in national and international politics
8) To state the reasons/conclusion/interactions of historical issues, events and relations
9) To assess the historical events in a competent way with the help of scientific methods
10) To configure historical events to provide lessons for the future
