Goals Aims and Objectives: Enabling students to understand the characteristics of the phonetics of the Turkish language of Turkey and developing their mother tongue consciousness. Besides this, explaining the reasons of the language mistakes committed while using Turkish and developing talents for using our language correctly.
Course Content Giving detailed information about the basic rules used in the Turkish language of Turkey, explaining the reasons of the changes in phonetics and meaning, ensuring the understanding of the conditions emerging after the changes, introducing the characteristics of the structure and functioning of the Turkish language of Turkey, going into the roots of the system of this functioning, referring to the errors in the use of the language and showing ways of getting rid of them.
Learning Outcomes 1) The student is informed about phonetics and sub disciplines of phonetics.
2) The student comprehends the main sound features of Turkish.
3) The student learns about diachronic and synchronic phonetic changes and the causes of these.
4) The student analyzes any grammer unit regarding to phonetics.
