Goals The purpose of the lecture is to research the structure of words and morphemes in Turkish, formation process, their constructions in this process , the methods of words' derivation, look for the reasons faced during derivation and find solutions for them.
Course Content Focusing on the area and the basic concepts of morphology, morphological features of Turkish, formation processes are examined. The term of category is comprehended, nominal category (the categories of plural, possessive, interrogation, case, copula, number, negation, gender, definiteness, ambiguity) and verbal category (the categories of tense, modality, aspect, voice, negation) are mentioned in detail in the texts. Besides that, addition forms of derivational affixes which are addicted to Turkish words and the rules of them are mentioned too.
Learning Outcomes 1) Have knowledge about the basic concepts of morphology.
2) Learn to make morphological analysis on the text.
3) Apply the methods of language research.
