Goals Teaching the properties of infant, child and adolescent acute and chronic diseases and medical nutritional therapies among these diseases.
Course Content Importance and Principles of Diet Treatment in Pediatric Diseases, Causes, Complications and Treatment of Childhood Obesity, Metabolic syndrome and diet therapy, Protein energy malnutrition and diet therapy, Causes and diet therapy of acute gastroenteritis, Lactose intolerance and diet therapy, celiac and diet therapy, Cystic fibrosis and diet therapy, Eating disorders and diet therapy, Neurological disorders and diet therapy, Diabetic ketoacidosis and diet therapy.
Learning Outcomes 1) Explains occurance causes of acute and chronic.
2) Comments clinical and biochemical discrepancies related to diseases.
3) Knows energy and nutrient requirements specific to diseases.
4) Plans a diet according to the diseases.
5) Knows the formulas used in diseases.
