Goals Teaching the properties of infant, child and adolescent acute and chronic diseases and medical nutritional therapies among these diseases.
Course Content Protein metabolism disorders and medical nutrition therapy, Carbohydrate metabolism disorders and medical nutrition therapy, Lipid metabolism disorders and medical nutrition therapy, Dietary therapy in congenital heart diseases, Dietary therapy in infectious diseases, Dietary therapy in kidney diseases, oncological diseases and diet therapy, Dietary therapy in food allergies and intolerances, Enteral and parenteral nutrition, Characteristics, requirements and nutritional principles of premature infants.
Learning Outcomes 1) Explain the causes of acute or chronic diseases.
2) Interpret clinical and biochemical differences related to diseases
3) Knows the energy and nutrient requirements specific to diseases.
4) Makes a diet plan suitable for diseases
5) Knows the formulas used in diseases.
