Goals The information necessary for students to be maintained for a long time without loss of quality of horticultural products is intended to be taught.
Course Content Definition storage, historical development, preservation techniques, contribution to the national economy, structural characteristics of horticultural products and the factors affecting it, harvest, before storage applications, storage, losses that occur during storage
Learning Outcomes 1) It defines storage, describes methods of storage
2) Explains changes that occur during periods of growth and development in fruits and vegetables.
3) It detects the correct date of harvest by species and uses their harvesting methods.
4) After harvest treatments applied to hoticultural products (ripening, maturation, bleaching, washing, etc.) will follow
5) It groups horticultural features of the product is maintained in cold storage
6) It recognizes that deterioration occurs in horticultural crops after harvest and during storage.
7) It fulfills its responsibilities in team work during harvest and storage stage of the horticultural products.
