Goals Explains the concepts of pruning, support and training systems, Explains pruning and the physiological effects of pruning on vines and fruit trees, Groups pruning methods in vines and fruit trees, The pruning required by the training systems appropriate to the species and varieties is carried out practically, Plans the pruning process according to the region, type and variety, Follows the developments regarding pruning, support and training systems and applies them in the field, Fulfills responsibilities within the team during pruning, It recommends appropriate pruning, support and training systems according to the region, species and variety, It follows the pruned plants and carries out any additional applications that need to be done completely and in a timely manner, Being aware of the methods of evaluating the available opportunities and using them effectively,Gaining the ability to take precautions to protect the environment during cultivation, Providing the opportunity to experience ways to evaluate the grown product
Course Content Concepts, principles, classification, tools used in vineyard pruning, Summer pruning practices in the vineyard, Winter pruning practices in the vineyard, concepts related to training systems, their classification, Local training systems, their features, creation, Support systems used in vineyards, training systems used in American grapevine rootstocks, Characteristics and creation of wire training systems (Kordon, Guyot, etc.) in the vineyard, Evaluation of academic studies on pruning, support and training systems in vineyards, Concepts, principles, classification, tools used in pruning fruit trees, summer pruning of fruit trees, Shape pruning in fruit trees (Goble, Leader Branch Systems Palmet, Pyramid etc. Systems), Product and rejuvenation pruning of fruit trees, training systems using support systems, Evaluation of academic studies on fruit pruning, support and training systems, Examination of pruning and training samples of vineyards, fruit trees and some other garden plants in the application garden,
Learning Outcomes 1) Explains pruning, support and training systems and concepts related to these subjects.
