Goals Explains concepts related to replication, Explains the propagation methods used in horticultural plants. The appropriate method or methods for the propagation of horticultural plants are determined according to the current conditions in which the propagation will be made. Propagates garden plants using the appropriate method or methods according to the current conditions in which the propagation will take place. Applies the maintenance procedures of the newly propagated plant, It follows the maintenance operations of the reproduced material and detects problems. It carries out the duplication process in accordance with production standards. It follows innovations in the method of propagating horticultural plants. Fulfills its responsibilities in teamwork regarding the proliferation of plants.Being aware of the methods of evaluating the available opportunities and using them effectively, Gaining the ability to take precautions to protect the environment during cultivation, Providing the opportunity to experience ways to evaluate the grown product
Course Content Definition and purpose of propagation, classification of propagation methods used in horticultural plants, general principles of vegetative propagation in horticultural plants, propagation of horticultural plants with specialized or modified stems and roots, propagation by layering, propagation by cutting, propagation by grafting (situations requiring propagation by grafting, factors affecting success in propagation by grafting, graft incompatibility, graft types), bud grafting techniques used in propagation of horticultural plants, cleft grafting techniques, propagation of horticultural plants by tissue culture, other vegetative propagation (stolon, separation etc.) methods, evaluation of vegetative propagation techniques with current academic studies, general principles of generative (seed) propagation in horticultural plants, concepts related to seeds, propagation of horticultural plants with seeds, evaluation of generative propagation techniques with current academic studies, comparison of vegetative and generative propagation methods with current academic studies.
