Goals Students will establish or advance their understanding of research through critical exploration of research language and approaches. The course introduces the elements of the research process within quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods approaches. Health related research literature will be used to aid the student in learning to read, understand, and critically analyze published materials. The preparation of research proposals and reports will be emphasized.
Course Content Research terminology in biomedical engineering, Ethical principles and challenges of biomedical research, Approval processes, Quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods approaches to research, Literature review process, Critical analysis of published research
Learning Outcomes 1) Defines basic concepts of research.
2) Gains information of gantt charts in biomedical research
3) Defines and compares quantitative, qualitative and mixed research models.
