Goals The aim of this course is to enable the student to comprehend the importance of the social dimension of health in public health nursing practices, to evaluate the basic and social determinants of health and the effects of power and policy on the health care system.
Course Content This course covers the student's understanding of the importance of the social dimension of health in public health nursing practices, evaluating the basic and social determinants of health and the effects of power and policy on the health care system.
Learning Outcomes 1)  It defines the basic social determinants of health.
2) Understand the structure of the health system and health organizations.
3) understand the importance of human , family, community, environmental concepts from sociological perspective .
4) Discuss the impact of power and politics on the health care system.
5) Assess inequalities in the health care system.
