Goals Explain and analyze the historical events of aforementioned period from multi-perspective approach in terms of cultural, economic, social, political, religious and intellectual perspectives based on first hand and second hand sources. Traces the continuity and shifts in European history. Discuss the different historical approaches in European history
Course Content European History between 1789 and 1914. Ancien Régime in Europe, Enligtenment and The French Revolution of 1789 and its Impact on Europe and World, a chronological presentation of political developments as follows: Napoléon Bonaparte and Napoleonic Wars, Congress of Vienna (1814-1815), Restoration Era in Europe (1815-1830) , Revolutions of 1830 and 1848 in Europe, Industrialization, urbanization, political unification of Germany and Italy, colonialism and imperialism are the major subjects of this course.
Learning Outcomes 1) dentify and explain the basic terms and concepts of the modern European History from 1789 to 1914
2) analyze the changes in European political, social and economic structure aforementioned period
3) Evaluate the impact of French Revolution of 1789 on European history and explain its causes and effects
