Goals To understand and determine the basis of history of medicine and its stages up to these days
Course Content The origin of medicine in prehistory and in primitive peoples; Medicine in the Ancient Mesopotamian civilizations; Medicine in the Ancient Egyptian civilization; Medicine in the Ancient Greek civilization; Medicine in Roman civilization; Medicine in Western medieval time; Developments in Western medicine from the Renaissance to the 18th century; Developments in Western medicine from the 18th century to these days; Science and medicine in Islamic civilization; Scientific medicine in Medieval Islamic civilization; Turkish medicine in Central Asia before Islam; Turkish medicine after Islam-Seljuk period; Turkish medicine after Islam-Anatolian Turkish principalities period; Turkish medicine after Islam-Ottoman Empire-Classical period; Turkish medicine after Islam-Ottoman Empire-Heading towards West and modernization period

14) Student enumerates features of the classical period of medicine in the Ottoman Empire
