Goals To teach general principles of seed production from breeding to harvest stages and post harvest procedure according to the vegetable species in open pollinated and hybrid vegetables,
Course Content Impotance of seed in vegetable production, Seed sector in The World and Turkey, Vegetable seed production and its problems in Turkey, Ecological factors in vegetable seed production, Vegetable seed production techniques, Cultural treatments during seed production related to seed quality and yield, Harvesst methods of vegatable seeds and processing seeds (Drying, cleaning, classifications etc.), Importance of seed storage, seed storage structures, Hybrid seed production technology, Open pollinated and hybrid seed production in commercially impotant vegetable species.
Learning Outcomes 1) To teach stages of variety breeding in vegetables.
2) Plannig seed production.
3) To produce vegetable seed production in any vegetable
4) To teach technologies post harvest of vegetable seeds.
5) To gain necessity of learning during the life
