Goals To give information about the methods of producing new plants or products from tissues, organs, cells and cell parts separated (isolated) from plants, working principles in aseptic conditions, content of nutrient media, information and experience for preparation of medium, information about plant tissue culture usage areas for practice.
Course Content Definition, importance and history of plant tissue culture, establishment of a tissue culture laboratory, sterilization tehniques, disinfectans, preparation of the plant materials for the culture, contents of the plant nutrient medium and their preparation techniques, cultivation, transplantation, subcultures, incubation conditions, observations on the growth of the cultures, proliferation and rhizogenesis.
Learning Outcomes 1) Have knowledge on the principles of working on aseptic (sterile) conditions.
2) Have knowledge about selection of nutrient medium composition
3) Have knowledge in preparing nutrient medium
4) Has knowledge about tissue culture laboratory establishment and design
