Goals Explanation of the mechanisms of the named reactions, developed for the synthesis of organic compound classes which are within the scope of this course, examination of their features and their applications in the literatur.
Course Content A brief summary of the types of organic reactions with their mechanisms; specific methods developed for the synthesis of alkanes, cyclopropan and its derivatives, alkenes, allenes, alkynes, diene, enyne, organic halogen compounds, ethers, epoxides, alcohols, diols, and organic sulfur compounds and their applications in the literature.
Learning Outcomes 1) Explanes the mechanisms of organic reactions
2) Defines the parameters affecting the organic reactions.
3) Designs an appropriate synthesis method for an organic molecule.
4) Recognizes the improved synthesis method for a particular functional group
5) Applies the synthesis method designed by him/her
6) Remembers the environment and human factors during designing organic synthesis method.
