Goals To provide information on how to make the structure of any commercial product in which polymer structures are used.It is also aimed to teach interpretation of the results obtained from the chemical and instrumental techniques to be used for the elucidation of the presence of polymers contained in the composite and copolymer structures prepared synthesized in the laboratory.
Course Content General Ingormation to Polymers : Thermosetting, Thermplastic, Elastomer, High Performans Polymer, Copolymer, Composite, Structure of Chain, Composition and Preparation of Polymer Materials. General Aspects to Analysis and Characterization of Polymers : Classification of Analysis and Characterization Techiques, Chemical Analysis of Polymers, Elemental and Structural tests, Thermal Analysis of Polymers. Simple Methods for Analysis of Polymers : Preparation to Analysis of Polymers, Siöle Phsical Tests, Density, Solubility, Heating and Flame Tests, Special Determining Tests. Explanations about Macro-Micro and Molecular Structures of Polymers, Mechanical Tests, Rheological Tests. Determining of Molecular Structure : Average cahin length, elemental analysis, analysis of heteroatoms, double bond determinin on polymers, kind of copolymer, copolimer composition, end group analysis. Extraction and analysis of additve agents : UV stabilizatör, reinforcing agents, antioksidants, lubricants, pigments, swelling agents, flammeable retardents, Chromotographic and Spectroscopic Techniques, Gel Permation Chromotography Fractionation of Polymers and Molecular Weight Determination and Distrubition. Mechanical Tests Applied to Polymers,: Strength-Strain, wearing, hardness, elasticity
Learning Outcomes 1) Explains the methods of analysis of polymers.
2) Identify pre-test techniques applied to polymers.
3) This disclose the separation and analysis of additives added to polymer products.
4) Polymers disclose the separation and analysis of additives added to products.
