Goals This course consists research processes, approaches, presentation and publication issues in a graduate level. This course will be conducted with technology support, and contributes increasing the quality, and the awareness of research processes.
Course Content Knowledge, science and technology, Introduction to scientific research, Time management and planning, Literature review, Ethical issues in research, Scientific methods of research, Quantitative research methods, Qualitative research methods, Mixed methods research, Presentation of the research study, Reporting of the research study
Learning Outcomes 1) Identifies the basic terms related with research area like knowledge, science, philosophy of science, scientific method levels etc.
2) Identifies the research problem in terms of conducting a research on an issue.
3) Knows the time management and planning in terms of a research process.
4) Reaches scientific resources for literature review.
5) Constitutes a research process within frame of ethical principles and rules.
6) Explains a research problem’s importance, identifies the assumptions, and limitations.
7) Defines research model, and compares the different research models.
8) Knows the data collection procedures which fits the research aim. Chooses the proper data analysis techniques according to research aims, data type and level.
9) Reports the research process in terms of scientific writing method and reporting principles.
