Goals This aims of the course is to teach special cultivation techniques related to advanced breeding methodology used by biotechnological breeding, molecular breeding, , development of new varieties against biotic and abiotic stress factors and conservation of oilseed plants’ varieties with economic importance in the world.
Course Content Important oilseed plants like sunflower, soybean, peanut, sesame, genealogy of genetic origins, cytology, flower and fertilization biology, morphological and physiological properties, hybridization, heterosis, micropropagation with tissue culture, advanced breeding techniques, molecular characterization and molecular markers supported breeding and stress factors.
Learning Outcomes 1) Fertilization biology of oilseed plants, learning the basics of cytogenetics
2) Understanding special production methods and methods of reproduction in oilseed plants
3) Learning special and advanced breeding techniques applied in oilseed plants
