Goals	In this course, the city administration regarding the basic theories and concepts, especially in different systems of local forms of governance, local government, central government relations, local governance and democracy, autonomy of local governments and Local Self-Government Charter, local governments based on the values and urban politics as well as issues will be given.
Course Content	Concepts of cities and urbanizations, why and how do cities develop: comparative advantages, scale and regional economics, historical development of cities: the history of western urbanization and urbanization in Türkiye, economic geography and regional development, system of cities and the urban hierarchy (central place theory and central place hierarchy), economic theories and development of urbanization process, economic criteria in site selection in business, economic principles in site selection of residential areas, urbanization theories, optimal city scale, overcrowding and pollution, urban land supply and demand, housing supply and demand, transportation system and economy in cities, impact of supporting systems such as transportation, infrastructure and telecommunication on real estate markets, need for infrastructure, physical development of sites and feasibility studies, services in cities and transformation of urban centres, new urbanization trends caused by technological development in transportation and communications, teleports and techno parks, urban management, municipalities and their management, metropolitan and its district municipalities, duties, responsibilities and sharing of authority of local public institutions and civil society organizations, local government models, public finance, investigation of social classes and gender, educational inequality, urban poverty, crime and punishment, urban environmental management, and environmental issues in urban areas.
Learning Outcomes	1) In the field of urban science theoretical, historical and current information is based. 2) Based on city of methodological knowledge in the field of science and law. 3) It uses historical and current information in urban science. 4) Basic and auxiliary urban area of science that uses the resources of all kinds. 5) It describes urban science owned by evaluating current and historical data reviews. 6) It uses historical and current problems of the studies written and oral. 7) It defines academic-level research, presentations, meetings, negotiations in such processes as well as an individual may conduct independent studies as well as taking responsibility as a team member, you can take an active part in such studies. 8) It describes theoretical and practical developments in the field of science, following the acquired knowledge and skills to critically evaluate. 9) Current developments in the field of urban science at the macro level as well as micro-level specialization is directed at the level of sub-areas. 10) It uses developments in the field of urban science disciplines axis by following the law, within the framework of the rule of law approach to interpret and critically evaluate new developments.
