Goals The purpose of this course is getting master’s students informed about theoretical and practical knowledge and basic concepts of “The Economics and Planning of Education” which is a subdiscipline of educational sciences.
Course Content The economics of education is an academic discipline that aims to analyze the educational topics with respect to the basic concepts and theories of the discipline of economics. In this course, the conceptual and theoretical framework of the economics of education will be discussed and in this context, the economy-education relationship will be studied based on the macroeconomic variables such as income, income distribution, employment, and growth. Furthermore, the problems concerning the economics of education in the National Education system and the solution proposals for them will be dwelled on.
Learning Outcomes 1) Is able to have general knowledge about concepts and institutions in the field of educational economics and planning.
2) Is able to have information about the historical and social development of the discipline of training and planning in educational economy.
3) Is able to analyze the economic, social and political structure of education policies.
