Goals The aim of the program is to provide students a profound knowledge on health policy and politics and skills in health policy analysis. In addition to learn the theory and methods of the policy process and to examine national and global health policies in this framework.
Course Content Basic concepts, historical approach towards health policies, public policy theories, policy and health policymaking process, health policy analysis, health policy and the role of the state, social determinants of health, inequalities in health, organisation of healh services and decentralisation, recent trends in health financing policy, health services delivery, public private partnerships, trends in health reforms, and global actors in health policy.
Learning Outcomes 1) Discuss the importance of health policies in the management of health institutions.
2) Analyze the actors and their consequences that affect health policy.
3) May exemplify the effects of health policies.
4) Discuss the health policies and the impact of politics on the hospital
5) Analyze health policies
6) Explain why countries have different or similar health policies and systems.
7) Explain why hwalth policy reform often proves to be difficult and describe different pathways to change
