Goals The aim of this lecture is to convey the concepts and problems related to sociology of education.
Course Content The foundations of sociology of education and its development; Basic concepts and research methods; Functions of education; Culture and society; Discussions on modernism and postmodernism; Paradigms of sociology of education; Educational systems; Educational reforms and policies
Learning Outcomes 1) To have knowledge about basic concepts of Sociology of Education
2) To explain features and functions of Sociology of Education field
3) To criticize social facts and concepts.
4) To presents his/her ideas on social facts and concepts oral and written forms.
5) To assess present education system in a critical viewpoint.
6) To consider ethical rules in his/her studies.
