Goals It is aimed to learn epigenetic concepts from the basics and to examine epigenetic mechanisms in both mammals and vertebrates.
Course Content The course includes basic epigenetic concepts, epigenetic modifications, regulation of epigenetic mechanisms on chromosome, epigenetic controls in gene expression, X chromosome inactivation, importance of epigenetic controls in embryonic and adult stem cell differentiation, epigenetic controls in c.elegans model.
Learning Outcomes 1) Basic concepts in epigenetics are defined.
2) Types of epigenetic modifications are explained in detail.
3) Epigenetic control of stem cells from the embryonic period is explained.
