Goals To comprehend the position of the Classical and Romantic periods within the music historyi to enable the acquisation of the required knowledge to distinguish the general characteristics of the Classical and Romantic periods and influences of these on the other art branches.
Course Content Classical and Romantic Periods: Classical Period, Bridge: Influences of philosophy, social events and other art movements on music. Significant composers through the examination of biography, style characteristics and chosen works.
Learning Outcomes 1) They identify the period with its general characteristics.
2) They know the reflections of the movement on the other art branches.
3) They distinguish the period instruments through hearing.
4) They distinguish the period forms through hearing.
5) They distinguish the significant works of the composers of the period through hearing.
