Goals To comprehend the position of the Romantic, Impressionist and Contemporary periods within the music history, to enable the acquisation of the required knowledge to distinguish the general characteristics of twenty century art movements and influences of these on music and other art branches.
Course Content Factors that affect the movement of Romantic period, impressionism; Impressionism in Painting; Impressionism in Music, Impressionist composers and their significant works; 20th century art movements; contemporary movements; contemporary composers and their significant works; jazz, rock, ethnic and popular music; technologic movements and electronic music experienced in 20th century.
Learning Outcomes 1) They identify the periods with its general characteristics.They have general knowledge about the Romantic, Impressionist and Contemporary period in terms of artistic, historical, social and cultural context.
2) They know the basic style characteristics of the movement of Romantizm, Impressionism and other contemporary art movements.
3) They know the reflections of the movement of impressionism and other contemporary art movements on other art branches.
4) They identify the composers of the movement of the Impressionism and other contemporary movements.
5) They distinguish the significant works of the Romantic, Impressionist composers and other contemporary composers who lived in 20th century.
