Goals It is aimed to define the various components of interpersonal communication from an interdisciplinary perspective and to reveal the relationship between them with a critical approach.
Course Content The content of the course consists of models and criticisms of interpersonal communication in the context of social context, perception processes, language and ideology.
Learning Outcomes 1) 1.Explain the relationship between interpersonal communication and different disciplines.
2) 2. Defines interpersonal communication.
3) 3. Recognizes different approaches and models related to interpersonal communication.
4) 4. Explains the basic communication skills.
5) 5. Criticizes the limitations of the perspective that reduces communication to social skills.
6) 6. Explains the basic components of interpersonal communication process.
7) 7. Evaluates the relationship between social context, social identity and social perception as components of the interpersonal communication process.
8) 8. Defines the role of social and physical environment in interpersonal communication.
9) 9. Separates social identity and social perception into its elements.
10) 10. Explains how social identity and social perception is formed and functions.
11) 11. Exemplify the codes of verbal and non-verbal communication as components of the interpersonal communication process.
