Goals With this course, it is aimed to provide teacher candidates with the necessary knowledge and skills regarding interdisciplinary collaboration. As part of the collaboration and forming teams, the IEP team, also it is aimed to increase social collaboration, family participation and to find solutions to the problems that may arise in collaboration.
Course Content Interdisciplinary collaboration and team, basic principles for collaboration, skills to work with individuals with different perspectives, effective communication strategies and communication, problem solving techniques, planning, evaluation and management of collaboration, inter-institutional cooperation and coordination, cooperation with families and communication, increasing the participation of family and individuals with special needs, collaboration with paraeducators, social collaboration and transition, problems and solutions in forming teams and collaboration.
Learning Outcomes 1) Defines interdisciplinary collaboration.
2) Explains the skills (communication skills, problem solving techniques) required for cllaboration.
3) Exhibits the knowledge and skills necessary for the collaboration with the individual with special needs, individual's family, educational assistants and community collaboration.
4) Explains the problems that may arise in collaboration and produces solutions.
