Goals The aim of this course is to provide special education teacher candidates with basic knowledge and skills about teaching science to individuals with special education needs.
Course Content Basic concepts in science; examining themes in science; sorting the topics; determining the necessary concepts for gaining the subjects and developing criteria-dependent measurement tools based on these concepts; science teaching approaches and teaching methods, preparing lesson plans according to students' levels; teaching practices; adapting science teaching to students with special educational needs
Learning Outcomes 1) Explain the relationship between science, science and technology concepts.
2) Evaluates the science curriculum in general education and special education.
3) Analyzes the curricula and analyzes the unit and subject.
4) Prepares rough and detailed assessment tool to evaluate student performance.
5) Explains the teaching approaches and methods used in science teaching.
6) Uses science teaching methods and techniques effectively.
7) Plans a science lesson in accordance with the developmental characteristics and needs of the students.
8) Uses concept teaching techniques effectively.
9) Teaches science by individualizing the teaching according to the student.
